South Carolina Governor Sanford

The calls for South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford to resign from the national media are a sure sign of their hipocracy.
With the problems of ethics presented by Nancy Pelosi's Tuna business, and Barney Frank's involvement with his boyfriends being in charge of Fannie Mae and a male prostitution ring, and Jack Murtha's defense contractor scandal, you'd think they'd back off of a simple little affair. After all, they excused Bill Clinton's blatant lying to prosecutors didn't they?
Note to Katie Couric et. al. don't throw rocks in glass houses. It might break something you care for.

Health care RIGHTS?

I want to know how something that, for all intents and purposes, didn't exist as a real science about 100 years ago became a RIGHT!
From a guy riding around the countryside with a bottle of morphine and a set of knives has expanded a RIGHT?
Secondly, I want to know how somebody thinks that calling another persons work product a right of yours is anything more than enforced state slavery?

The Bush Dividend

The "unrest" in Iran this week, following the stolen election, is a telltale sign that the Bush Doctrine is working. Even after the man has been out of office for six months there are people emboldened by the idea that they too can have a real democracy. Maybe GW should have called it the "yes we can" foreign policy.

Having two burgeoning democracies on either side of them has depleted the "elite Republican Guards". So heavily depleted from them being sent to fight our troops, that the people of Iran sense an opening. The ranks of the fanatic followers of the Mullahs have been thinned by their foreign adventurism. The Mullahs now have very few left to guard THEMSELVES!

I think GW is sitting back and having a good chuckle at this development.
Democracy Sandwich anybody?

The Flint Demolition Plan

The Flint plan is typical liberal thinking. I didn't hear the talk show hosts catch it either. Why aren't they tearing down the projects instead? Move the people from the projects into these houses and stop paying housing subsidies for them.I'm sure that Habitat for Humanity will be glad to help renovate those things! Geez! Do I have to think of everything!
It will take a long term burden off the taxpayer by eliminating the housing subsidies that we are paying now.
Is anyone thinking out there?

edit: 7/20/2009:

Here's a link to a discussion of the idea in a Flint online newser that hashes out the idea:

note that there are considerable attacks on the idea.
